Hello! We are heading into the holiday season for many of us. Dianne and I will be posting our annual blogs about gift ideas in the next couple of weeks.
In the meantime, we thought we would share our favorite book with you and ask for readers to comment with their favorites! Please include the author, name of the book and a sentence or two about the subject or reason you recommend it.
My current favorite book is “The New Quick and Easy Block Tool” published by C & T. It includes patterns for 110 blocks with multiple sizes for each block. Easy rotary cutting, and many options for pre-cuts and layouts.
This is Dianne. I thought I’d piggyback onto Liz’s post and tell you about my favorite book. It’s called “The Quilter’s Album of Patchwork Patterns” by Jinny Beyer. Jinny has researched and documented more than 4000 blocks, many of them dating back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. She has also added some of her own original designs. The best part is, she tells you how to draft the block for your own purposes.
Be sure and tell us your favorite in the comments below.
I love this idea! I am still new to quilting but so far I’ve found “Borders and Bindings” by Mimi Dietrich was my most useful for beginners. The diagrams and tips are well made and simple to follow, it made binding my first quilt super easy. 🙂 -Sarah Larson
My favorite quilt book is ‘It’s Okay to Sit on My quilt’ by Mary Ellen Hopkins. She owned a quilt shop in Santa Monica, CA called Crazy Ladies and Friends. It was one of my favorites when I lived in Los Angeles
