We are so proud of MPS member, Cydney! She received a blue ribbon for her quilt “All Things Christmas” at the Clark County Quiltfest Northwest held the first weekend in April of 2024. Here’s the backstory:
Cydney and her friend and MPS member, Heather, decided to challenge themselves by making a quilt from the book “Vintage Christmas” by Lori Holt of the Bee In My Bonnet Company. They each made forty-two 6″ blocks of their own choosing from this very fun book. It took them awhile to finish their quilts, but when they did, they had two beautiful but distinctly different vintage quilts.
Although she had first intended to give the quilt to someone, Cydney decided to show the quilt first. So she entered it into the Quiltfest NW. She was thrilled to learn that she had won the “First Place Judged” ribbon AND the Viewer’s Choice award in the Advanced Piecing category!
Did you notice the green ribbon hanging on the quilt? That ribbon goes to Cydney’s long-arm quilter, Kazumi Peterson, for the “Best Quilting Movable Longarm Computer Assist”. When you look at the close-up photos of the quilting, you can see why this ribbon was awarded to the quilt. (You can click on any of the images below to see a larger view.)
Cydney hopes to take this quilt “on the road”, as they say, and enter it into some more quilt shows in 2025. We’re glad the quilt will get more exposure! This is another example of the many talented quilters in the MPS Guild.
Feel free to leave kudos for Cydney in the comments below.

Wonderful Christmas quilt, Cydney! Congratulation on your ribbons. You’re quite a talented piecer. Hope this and your quilts go on to win more ribbons…
