It’s been a little over 9 months since MPS announced the quilt challenge for 2023. The theme is “Heritage on a Small Scale” and you can read more about the challenge by following the button link below.
I really like this particular challenge and have been thinking about what I could create for it. So far it’s been lots of random ideas with nothing cohesive coming together to make a smallish challenge quilt. Nothing feels quite right.
Deb Messina is an MPS member who has accepted the challenge, but had also struggled to come up with a concrete plan. Deb owns an online quilt shop and as part of her business, she sends out newsletters three times a month. In her September 1st newsletter, she addresses quilt challenges head on–how to approach them, design, plan and finally get to the finish line. By the time I finished her article, I had come up with a solid plan and now have a direction to head in getting it done.
So I asked Deb if I could share the article with our MPS Blog readers and she has graciously allowed me to do so. You can get to her article by clicking on the button below. Maybe it will also inspire you to find your direction and get moving…
Have you been thinking about our challenge? How is it going for you? Let us know in the comments below.
So motivating. Grab my pencil and paper and get something started!
Great article, Deb! And, thanks for the “push”, Dianne.
