Springing Into Quilt Show Season

Beyond the welcome appearance of crocuses, daffodils, and daphne, the arrival of spring in the Portland metro area is heralded by a series of quilt shows. The first of these is coming up this weekend (Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19): the 22nd Annual Airing of the Quilts at the Milwaukie Center.

Described as a community quilt show, the Airing of the Quilts is not affiliated with a guild. The featured artist is Barbara Neill, whose talk, “Anything Goes,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, from 11:00 am to noon. For more information on the 22nd Annual Airing of the Quilts, click here.

The Clark County Quilters celebrate their 41st anniversary with a show April 7-9 (Thursday – Saturday) at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield, WA.

Lectures and demonstrations by local quilting luminaries and vendors round out the quilt show, which this year bears the theme “Circle of Life.”

The Metropolitan Patchwork Society hosts a show every other year. Our next show is in 2017 but it is not too early to think about what quilts you would like to enter. Perhaps some of the quilts you see at these upcoming shows will be a source of inspiration!
