Ruthann is a member of MPS. She was recently on the receiving end of someone’s extraordinary generosity and she wanted to share her experience with all of us.
I want to share something really nice that someone did for me! On my quest to finish all of my PIPs (projects in process-I just made that up!), I needed more background fabric for making some additional blocks from Dawn White’s class on the Secrets of the Quick Curve Ruler, taught in July of 2018. (Of course, my quilt was getting bigger!)
I looked at three different shops and when I went to Aloha Sew and Vacuum, where I purchased the fabric 2 years ago, they did not have it either. However, Kimberly (who is the owner) thought that she might have some in her personal stash and she took my phone number and told me she would text me if she found some. Which she did! I picked it up the next day and she did not want to take anything for the fabric. It was about a 1/4 yard and just enough to make another block.
I think that this is an example of excellent customer service and wanted to give her a shout out!
Thanks, Ruthann. It’s always nice to hear about the kindness of others.

Great story! Thanks for sharing!
Ruthann – I appreciate this story. A reminder that it is worth asking, always. Rosalie
I love that place. I go there often
Really nice story. It’s interesting that with all of the fabric she must have, (and most of us have), her brain had a memory of having that fabric. Really generous of her in time also. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt.
Yes Kim is just like that!
Your story of an act of kindness is so welcome these days. Thank you for publicly sharing it.
