Our annual Silent Auction is coming up in less than two weeks. Tuesday, March 22nd to be exact. Mim is busy putting together some wonderful items for our bidding pleasure. We will have gift certificates from The Pine Needle, Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe, and Cool Cottons. There are also a couple of lovely gift baskets from The Quilter’s Corner Store and Tea Time Calicos.
Of course, that’s not all! There’s fabric-lots of it, threads from Aurifil, quilting lap frames, a very nice quilt rack, some coffee table books, and lots of other fun quilty items. We will have over 100 items on which to bid. These photos show very few of the items and are meant to whet your appetite. (Click on them for a larger view)
The Silent Auction is the main fundraiser for our guild, and the moneys raised go to the Vicky Arnold Memorial Program Fund. The fund was set up as a source from which we can draw to pay for the talented and versatile quilters and fabric artists who speak to us at our monthly meetings. And many of these speakers also stay an extra day to lead a workshop for us. Needless to say, the future of our programs depends on the success of this auction.
Plan to bring your dollar bills or checkbooks. And we’ll also have a credit-card reader there for those who prefer to pay that way. This meeting is open to members and non-members alike. So bring a friend!
The bidding starts as early as 6:00 PM. We’ll break to eat our Potluck Dinner and then go back to bidding.
Oh—-and did I mention that we also have a Pfaff Hobbylock Serger available for auction? It’s not a new one; but it’s valued between $130 and $150 and comes with its owner’s manual. If you’ve ever wanted to try a serger, this might be just the thing for you.

Me too! Last year’s was the first one I went to and it was great fun.
This will be so much fun. I can’t wait. Saving my pennies/dollars.
