Sidnee is an artist who uses fabric and fiber as her medium, and who, in 2007, developed her own unique method of applique to make quilts. Using her photographs, computer processing software, fabric and free-motion sewing, she creates beautiful art quilts. While her earlier art quilts were more traditional and abstract in design, she considers her current work to be more representational of what she sees in her photos.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art shows around the country as well as internationally. Some of her quilts are part of individual private collections. She was featured in an episode of Oregon Art Beat, which is a locally produced television show that airs over Oregon Public Radio. Currently, through April 30th, her quilts are being exhibited at the Latimer Quilt and Textile Center in Tillamook, Oregon.
We are pleased to have her speak to us at our next meeting which will be held Tuesday, April 26th. The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM. We hope you’ll join us to hear about Sidnee’s artistic journey from electrical engineer to quilt artist.
