On April 22, 2023 which also happened to be Earth Day, MPS presented our biannual indoor quilt show at the Beaverton City Library. We showed many beautiful and interesting quilts and had more than 300 attendees. Many wandered in from the library and some came over from the Farmer’s Market that was in full swing across the street from the library. And, of course, we had many of our own friends and family present to see our quilts on display. We were thrilled to share our quilts with so many members of the community, many of whom are non-quilters. Our “demonstrators” got to visit with many that day and explain what we do and why we love it.
Of those 300 people, over 200 of them took the time to wander around the show and vote on what they considered to be the best quilt in it’s category. It was gratifying to see so many of the men, women, and children take their voting responsibilities very seriously. I saw more than one voter wander back and forth between quilts before they finally chose the quilt they thought deserved their vote. I took a few photos and will be sharing them on Instagram over time. Now would be a good time to follow our MPS Instagram account. You can find us at “mpsquiltguild”. And be sure to watch for our stories that show up at the top of your Instagram feed. When you see a circle with our logo in it, just click on it to see what’s there. Remember–stories are only live for 24 hours. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
