The current Website Committee decided to change our name to better describe what we do. So we are now officially the MPS Social Media Committee. We have a Facebook account and an Instagram account. Just use “metropatchquilts” in the Search box for both accounts and you’ll see some of our latest postings. You can choose to follow us and then you’ll never miss a thing.
So who is this Social Media Committee? Well, I’m glad you asked!
Hopefully, you’ve noticed more activity on our MPS Blog. That’s due to two new writers who are excited to bring you quilting information.

Barbara S. is a fairly new member. She used to write for a scrapbooking magazine, but wants to write about her new quilting passion. And we are excited to have her do so! Barbara is also the keeper of the Instagram account.

Liz M. is a Founding Mother of our guild, and a wonderful miner of all things quilty on the Internet. She is looking forward to sharing what she finds.
How can you encourage our new blog writers to keep going? By leaving comments!! There is a place for you to type a comment at the end of each post. You’ll be asked to give your name and email, but that’s just so we don’t get a bunch of unsolicited comments from those pesky “bots” that troll the Internet. Your email is safe with us and you only have to give us your first name. Also know that the comment section is moderated by the committee to keep spammers out of our posts. What that means is, you might not see your comment appear until after it’s been approved for all to see. So leave a comment for Liz and Barbara. They’d love to hear from you.

Julie R. is another important member of our Social Media Committee. She is more into the technical workings of our website and is a great help to me. If you are a recent new member, you have had the benefit of her clear and concise instructions for navigating the website.

Lucie P. is also a new member and her official title is Guild Photographer. By agreeing to take photos at our meetings and such, she has made our jobs so much easier. We’re reserving a chair for her in the front row at each meeting.

Finally, the committee is chaired by yours truly, Dianne M. I’ve been an MPS member for about ten years and have chaired this committee for almost five years. I am also the keeper of the Facebook account.
So that’s who we are and what we do. Feel free to approach any of us with new ideas or things you’d like to see on our many platforms. We appreciate your input!
