MPS Celebrates 25 Years of Quilting Magic!

As you may have heard, we have some truly exciting news to share: the Metropolitan Patchwork Society (MPS) is turning 25 this year! We can hardly believe it.  A quarter of a century filled with vibrant fabrics, intricate patterns, and a whole lot of creativity. To mark this wonderful milestone, we’re inviting all current and past members (as well as any guests that are interested) to join us for a special celebration on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Bethel Congregational Church in Beaverton, Oregon.

What’s on the agenda?

First, we’ll have the pleasure of hearing from some of our fabulous Founding Mothers. They’ll share stories about the early days of MPS, giving us a peek into the rich history and heartwarming moments that have made our guild what it is today. Their tales are sure to inspire and remind us why we fell in love with quilting in the first place.

Also, prepare to be dazzled by the Past Presidents’ quilts. These masterpieces are not just beautiful pieces of art; they represent the leadership, vision, and hard work that have steered MPS over the years. Each quilt tells its own story, with blocks stitched together by the hands of members to honor those that have led us with passion and dedication.

But wait, there’s more! We’re spicing things up with a friendly MPS Small Group table decorating competition. This is the chance to show off the creativity and teamwork of our small groups. The groups are gathering and brainstorming their best ideas to see who can come up with the most stunning table décor. May the best group win!

And of course, what’s a celebration without some delicious dessert? After all, quilting and sweets go hand in hand. We’ll have a delightful spread to satisfy your sweet tooth as you mingle, reminisce, and celebrate with fellow quilters.

Can’t make it in person? No worries! We’re also hosting the event over Zoom, so you can join the festivities from the comfort of your own sewing nook.
