Metropolitan Patchwork Society (MPS) held their bi-annual quilt show on March 16, 2019 at the Beaverton Library. It coincided with National Quilt Day and the Challenge theme was “Books”. (You can click on any of the pictures to see a larger image).
The one-day show was free and drew about 350 people, mainly from the Farmer’s Market and the Library patrons. Many attendees had never seen a quilt show and there were lots of positive comments! The quilts were amazing and showed the variety of interests the guild supports: traditional, modern, art, group challenges, comfort quilts and Quilts of Valor.
Guild members hung ~75 quilts and attendees voted for their favorite quilt in each category. The winners will be announced at the MPS Guild Meeting in April. “Portland’s Window on China” by Judy L. was chosen as Best of Show.
Thank you to Miki and her committee for a wonderful show! Thank you to the MPS members who shared their beautiful quilts!
MPS has planned their next quilt show for March 2021 at the Beaverton Library.
