And you don’t want to miss the opportunity to spend some time with this talented quilter!
Karla will be speaking at the Metropolitan Patchwork Society’s July 28th meeting with a presentation called “Lift the Quilts out of Your Stash”. She will encourage us to view our stash in a whole new way as she leads us on an exploration of the traditional and untraditional methods we can use for our quilting projects. She will also inspire us to put our personal stamps on our quilts by exercising our own creativity. She speaks to all experience levels, making her discussions enjoyable for both beginning and long-time quilters. Did I mention she’ll be bringing a whole lot of quilts to show us?
Then on Wednesday, July 29th, Karla will lead an MPS-sponsored workshop called, “Gentle Curved Piecing: Red Onion Quilt”. This quilt comes from her book, “Stack a New Deck”. Besides teaching her gentle curved piecing techniques, she will also share her tips on color choice and cutting and sewing techniques that will enhance your quilting methods. Best of all, if the Red Onion quilt doesn’t turn you on, you can make any other quilt from her book; and you’ll find many great choices there.
If you’ve never taken a class from Karla before, you owe it to yourself to sign up for this one. You will learn much from her and at the same time be encouraged to stretch your own creative expression.
