Beyond the welcome appearance of crocuses, daffodils, and daphne, the arrival of spring in the Portland metro area is heralded by a series of quilt shows. The first of these is coming up this weekend (Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19): the 22nd Annual Airing of the Quilts at the Milwaukie Center. Described as a community quilt show, the Airing of the Quilts is not affiliated with a guild. When Linda Gillins joined MPS in February, she had no idea her membership would come with a bonus. Linda was the lucky winner of a ticket to the Ricky Tims Super Quilt Seminar March 31-April 2. Her name was drawn in a raffle drawing at the Feb. 26 guild meeting.
