“Kaleido Medallion” There are 11 different combinations of blocks 4 of 7 blocks, 8 of 3. Blocks, 20 of 1 block. I had to number each piece and each block before I could assemble the quilt. The challenge was keeping the blocks organized.
I like the quilt and am happy I did it. Quilted by Diane Hedlund.

“Bow Sock” My son asked me to make him a bow sock for his archery bow. He sent me the dimensions in a sketch. I decided to quilt the fabric using black denim and a treasure chest fabric. He loved it!

“Woodland Friends” This quilt was made for my niece’s third baby who was born in October. I used some animals from the same Gingerber panel that I used to make a quilt for her first baby. That quilt has a black and white checkerboard surrounding the animals with some pink highlights. This quilt uses a D9P with blue accents. The D9P are uneven, different fabric in each position. The quilt will be delivered next week.

I made this stole for our new Pastor’s Installation service. It is based on the passage “I am the vine, you are the branches.

“Disappearing Block Sampler” I started this in a virtual workshop sponsored by Nothwest Quilters. I added 3 blocks to the original 9 to make the quilt larger as well as play with some more “disappearing” block arrangements.

“Falling Leaf” With my echo quilting, I tried to suggest a leaf falling into a pond.

“Rose of Robin” Robin Long’s Kit, Rose of Robin, caught my eye. Mariner’s Compasses and appliqué- just perfect! Spoke with quilting friend, Kim K, who knows Natalie Barnes, kit’s fabric designer and thought she may order the kit, too. I especially liked the design feature of making four quadrants and then adding borders. Made freezer paper/turned edge, machine appliqué easier. Took me all summer to make the quilt! Quilted by Maria Egoroff.

“Baseball Season 2024” Every baseball season I look for a handwork project to occupy my hands while watching a full season of baseball with my husband. I enjoy the games and getting familiar with the teams. When Missouri Star offered the embroidery kit, I knew it would be perfect for the baseball season. I hadn’t embroidered on denim since the 1960’s and 1970s! Fun project and the quilt will be added to the patio series.

“Checkered Past” UFO blocks that I almost threw out. Made two years ago. The background red check was too busy. When I won a large piece of red fabric from STI two months ago, I adapted the block, added the sashing and put the blocks on point. Finding the two tone blue check for the border really pulled together the checkered them. “October” Hopewell House quilt completed. ✅
