“Jay” I saw this photo in a calendar. I wanted to try my hand at making an “Ann Shaw”-like pattern. It was hard and required some creative improvisation. I finished it and it lies flat.

“Beth’s Birthday Quilt” I started this quilt at the Spring MPS retreat. It is the second quilt that I have used “bonus” fabrics from a queen-sized bedspread that I made for my son and dtr-in-love. I am ready to start making and giving more quilts to friends and family. This one went to celebrate Beth’s 60th birthday. I gave it to her early and she is delighted. Quilted by Robin Hill.

“Beribboned” Beribboned is my second version of the free Ribbon Box pattern from Cloud 9 Fabrics. The floral focus fabric in the first vertical ribbon has been in my stash for close to 15 years. The quilting motif is Embellish, chosen because it evokes swirling ribbons while softening the straight lines of the pieced ribbons. Quilted by Karlee Sandell.

“Dawning Light” A raffle quilt in support of the Portland Christmas Revels. Quilted by Chase Lawrence.

“Rainbow Wash” Wanted a Cathedral Window Quilt over the bed This is probably as big as I want to handle as the quilt is heavy with all the seaming. (3.2 pounds). I had two charm packs so I wouldn’t run out and Zinnia charm pack had a nice rainbow effect. I would work on the 2 1/2 in squares between quilts so this quilt took a year to complete. Thank you, Christie for the inspiration!

“Fall” While browsing Diamond Quilt Shop, Cannon Beach, with my sister-in-laws, I discovered the panel and knew it would be a good addition to my Fall quilts. It’s digital printed so I took care to change my needle periodically to avoid the white back/ wrong side. Set the leaves on point. Had next to no fabric remaining at the end and used backing to bind.

“Fall Fun” Saw this kit in a quilting magazine and ordered it immediately. It’s a welcome addition to my Fall quilts! Kit came with lots of extra fabric. Big pieces went together rather quickly. When I took the quilt to Ace Sew and Vac for Maria to long arm the piece, both clerks immediately got on line and ordered the kit. It’s just cute folk art! Backing is red/white plaid. Quilted by Marie Egoroff.

“Christmas Tree Table Runner” I was looking for a Christmas table runner which had its design visible from both sides of the table and found this one on Pinterest. It was fun to make with both Christmas and non-Christmas fabrics. I backed it with a subtle holiday fabric to make a two-sided table runner.

“Ho Ho Ho” I purchased the fused laser cut Santa pattern several years ago. I don’t recall where I bought it, the name or who produced it. The laser cut pattern created a positive and negative image when cut apart. I started putting these together last Christmas and obviously didn’t finish them. I saw them in the closet and decided this would be my Small Group UFO for November. I’m continuing to hone my free motion quilting skills.

I always have ‘several’ pets and so my veterinarian is an important person in my life. She just had a baby and, since she takes care of my family, I wanted to do something for hers.

“The Mountains Are Calling” This quilt will be given to a friend who is turning 60 this year. She loves camping and hiking with her family. A few years ago, I made a table runner for another friend as a wedding gift. Quilted by Maria Egeroff.
