I had a pile of precut flower 5″ squares. I noodled around with the layout and then found the six Daisy Kingdom seed packets at a garage sale to add.

This was a very labor-intensive quilt. It took me 51 hours to stitch out the embroidery blocks, 18 hours to stitch the blocks together, and make the back, 14 hours to do the quilting, 2 hours to do the binding, for a total of 85 hours. A labor of love for Bill and Carla Duffy who are lifelong friends. ♥️

After being inspired by Linda G, I have decided to make my little neighbor, Oliver, a “ birthday banner” each year. He is infatuated with garbage trucks, so that was this year’s party theme. His dog and mine also made an appearance in the design. I got the pattern from Etsy. I put loops with thumb tacks for hanging, but his parents have decided to have it framed instead.

I needed to update our family tree since we had added so many new spouses and grandchildren. After taking a miniature piecing class from Giuseppe Ribaudo at Sisters, I decided to make a version of a chandelier quilt using this technique.

These little mermaids are not quilts, but it was what I could do with my back out.

First, thank you, Christie F. for Zoom teaching this Cathedral Window technique. And thanks to Liz M. For managing the camera in the Zoom workshop.
When I saw the color displacement in a Tula Pink charm pack, I immediately thought of a cathedral window quilt. The challenge: avoid any waste of the fabrics in the charm pack. The black/gray and white/black fabrics came from my stash. Lots of pressed triangles!!

I love using composition books to take notes for the various groups in which I participate. However, the black and white covers are pretty blah and they all look the same. I had this collection of beautiful selvedges and decided to “make” my own fabric. Iron-on letters from the craft store lets me know I’m grabbing the correct journal on my way out the door! I’ve also made covers out of home dec fabric.
