This is a baby quilt I recently made from the “found” central panel in my stash. I experimented with two different quilting diagonal directions to compare the impact. See the second quilt in this submission.

This is the second baby quilt, created from the “found” central panel (I found two of them). I changed the diagonal quilting pattern to see which one I liked better. Which one do you like better?

Aiden’s Dragon is what I titled it. Made for my Grand Nephew Aiden. It measures 44X50. Made with fabrics from Homespun Quilts in Astoria. Since this ended up a sea dragon I added the fire bubbles. The bubbles were made using the Applipop notion.

This is the fifth and final premade top I finished off from the auction. I reworked and added borders to make it approximately 40 inches square. I worked on this at the retreat and with Linda G’s assistance I mitered the striped border. I quilted it with a heart pattern.

I used my embroidery module to create this Spider-Man shirt for my Grand Nephew Ethan for his 5th birthday. I believe I found the design through Etsy.

Baby Aiden got his Little Brother sweatshirt. I had made a Big Brother sweatshirt for his brother Ethan for Christmas.

Two new (as of fall 2022) focus prints were the inspiration for this fall-themed quilt, with the remaining fabrics pulled from my stash. I love the way the quilting motif (“Curlicue” by TK Quilting & Design II) evokes falling leaves caught in an updraft and then drifting in circles to the ground.

Quilt has a long history. It was pieced in 1949 by my maternal grandmother for my mother when she was expecting me. Both my mother and grandmother were hand quilter and not sure why it was unfinished until I quilted it this year. Brought enjoyment to me to take my grandmother’s pieced project to completion. Hazel’s quilts were pieced with garment scraps or worn clothing recut for piecing.

My sister-in-law gave me a layer cake of ‘Lift Off’ (glow in the dark) to make birthday banners. Had enough for a kid’s quilt, birthday flags and future banner. 47×58 inches and should be a perfect size for the three year grandson to use for forts. The glow in the dark is on the front and backing so should add to great fort building adventures.

I made several batik birds at the Spring MPS Retreat but never formed an attachment to them. The bird blocks found a home in NICU quilts and were pieced flying around Kaffe fabrics. Think the birds will be appreciated for their color and charm in a NICU.

Last month at “Inspirations” I won this fabric. Since my daughter loves turtles and her birthday is soon, I decided to make this gift for her. The placemats are 12.5” x 17.5”. The hot mitt is lined with Insul-Bright. Also, she loves green!

I purchased this kit at the MPS silent auction. The fabrics included were a bit different. I choose a bolder contrasting background. Hexies were EPP. I used this project to push my FMQ skills. I learned the value of matching your thread to the section you are machine quilting (finds mistakes). The effect on the back was interesting as well.

Second time I have used this pattern. Goal…only use stash. Will be a donated quilt to Hopewell Hospice House. Enjoyed working with the coral and turquoise colors. Tried to move from ice blue in lower right to light greens on top.

Combine Bonnie Hunter’s free Spider Web pattern and Angela’s, so scrappy, Rainbow Scrap Challenge and my bags of strips & strings leftover from many projects I had just what I needed to create this quilt. As always, you never whittle down the pile of scraps as you hope you will.
These are all incredible! The amount of talent demonstrated by our members never ceases to amaze me.
