Totally Tulips; Missouri Star Quilt Co pattern; Tula Pink fabric collections With Tula Pink wide back; 90×90; Pieced and completed by Jane; Machine long arm quilting by Janet Buls. Collected Tula Pink fabric over a period of time. Lots of fabric lines. Worked with 5 inch squares. Fussy cut animal faces to fit in Tulip petals. Tulip blocks are 17 inches finished. So fun.

I found a quilted heart

“Blue Tiles” was made using the cathedral window method. Four sections made in “quilt as you go” style, joined and then bound. This piece has a special place in my home. You can often find me beginning my days in this room with the electric candles to help set the mood.

Peter Rabbit quilt for Leslie whose grandmother lives next door to me and who was babysat by my daughter when she was young. Loved the Beatrice Potter fabric when it came in 2006. Purchased 4 yards of the little four inch block character pictures. I have 9 blocks remaining. I quilted it with Ivy leaves and circles.

Recently, I heard reference to the ‘daughter’ quilt when it’s made with scraps from another quilt. Two infant ‘daughter’ quilts. One for Lullaby project and one for Providence NICU. They are made with the pink and green scraps from the queen size quilt. My goal: reduce scraps in my sewing room by making charity quilts.

Typically in January, I make a Spring quilt. This Spring quilt began as a kit tucked away in my sewing room for several years. I liked the Maywood fabrics and having a sampler design. Found one cutting error in the first block and three errors in the second block. Did my own math from then on! 102 inches square. Quilted by Teresa Koster.

My first quilt finish for 2022. This bunny pattern was designed by Sally Trude. Block color/choices were inspired by the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) led by the blogger scraphappy. Great way to dig into your scraps without struggling over which color family to use. In response to my husbands question I replied, “Those two bunnies are not the wrong way; they’re just going the other way.”

One is a scrap quilt that I made for Covid. The quilting is a picture of the Covid virus. The second is an aboriginal quilt from a kit.

Reunited with my quilting buddies for a weekend retreat. Needed a solid for one project, bought the echinacea fabric when we shopped on our way to our house rental, got the mottled fabric as a gift from a buddy, then read through a book from one of my other buddies, and made this little piece! Total retreat memory. Enjoyed the new method for cathedral windows.

This was a Keepsake BOM last year. It was assembled using a fusible applique technique and quilted by Teresa Koster.

I won a bundle of blue fat quarters last month at “Inspirations” and used them (plus more) in this quilt. It’s 20”x21” and 420 one inch pieces. I found the pattern on Etsy and liked the asymmetry. It was a fun challenge using such small pieces.

This is a pattern from Wilmington Prints entitled “Stars on the Loose”. I used my precut 2.5” left over squares. As Linda G would say, “It was a great opportunity to practice color value in quilting”. I quilted the central diagonal with metallic gold thread and added tiny gold beads sparingly through the diagonal. 23” x 42”.
