Several weeks ago, Naomi M sent me this video clip from the PBS Newshour. It’s all about Faith Ringgold and her amazing 60 years of creating art. She is featured in a major exhibit at the New Museum in New York; and in this clip, she is being interviewed by Jeffrey Brown while surrounded by her story quilts. While we only get short glimpses of the quilts, one can tell that they are amazing. And Ms. Ringgold is delightful to listen to. You can watch the 7-minute clip by clicking on the button below.
PBS Newshour ClipThanks, Naomi, for sharing yet another example of stories being told through quilting. We hope you enjoy this video. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
PS: If you see something that you think would interest our quilty friends, please feel free to send it along to metropatch@metropatch.com.

What a beautiful and powerful way to share events and ideas that needed to be recorded. Loved it. Thanks for sharing. I’m interest in her children’s books.
Oh my, the things I’d miss out on if it weren’t for my quilting friends. Thank you for calling this to our attention.
Powerful art. Powerful woman. So inspiring!
